Nnesha (nnesha):

you should factor this (x^2-1) first so you can cancel out some stuff

Nnesha (nnesha):

difference of square \[\huge\rm (a^2 -b^2) = (a+b)(a-b)\]

Nnesha (nnesha):

can you factor \[\huge\rm (x^2 -1 )= ???\]

OpenStudy (poetryprincess):

I don't know

Nnesha (nnesha):

okay so basically difference of square is to take square root of first term and square of 2nd term you can only apply that method if there is NEGATIVE sign in the original question |dw:1427515618720:dw| you should get 2 parentheses for the final answer one should negative and one should positive
