Medal for best answer! I'm writing a book on Wattpad about why Christianity is real. I need help coming up with a title. Here's the book description: "Sometimes people wonder, "What's so special about Christianity? How is it different than any other religion?" I'm going to do my best to show you how powerful and real Christ is, and how He has changed my life. You can read the chapters in order, or just pick one that looks interesting. They're all written by me, unless otherwise noted. Enjoy!" Any ideas for a title? I can attach the first chapter, too, if you want. Medal for best answer!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meh a muslim but i'll help anyway :) u should come up with a title like "The Light of Christ" or something. probably "Christ: The Way to Truth" or something, hope this helps :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"The Light of Christ" is a good one. if no one comes up w/ anything better, i'll give u a medal ;) @aahmed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, i think i'll just do "The Light of Christ" for now, and maybe change it later. thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey, if anyone else has any ideas, feel free to share!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm a Christian. What God can do. The things God has done for us.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gods love Gods grace What you should know from God.

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

Speaking as a Christian, here's my personal opinion on this: if you're trying to get non-Christians to read this book, then you need a less I'm-throwing-religion-blatantly-in-your-face type title. A lot of non-Christian/atheistic people are immediately turned off books that they feel to be too spiritual, especially if the word "God" is in the title. So, in order to make the title more appealing to everyone (thus helping to convince non-Christians to pick up the book), choose something less obviously polarized and let the power of your stories do the convincing. I'm not trying to get you to compromise your message, but I'm just trying to point out the fact that if you have a title like "God in my Life" or something like that, it is only going to attract from a certain demographic (aka Christians who, while they probably need the reminders that God is real, are likely not your target demographic). I have seen some interesting titles that include God and appeal more to everyone like "If God Loves Me, Why Can't I Get My Locker Open?" (written by Lorraine Peterson). It's actually an amusing book that addresses the presence of God, even in our worst days. So, instead of broadcasting to the world that you are trying to bring people to God, do it a little more subtly by throwing out a universal problem, something that everyone can relate to, and then throwing God in as a solution once your readers can relate to your content. That way, they are already invested in what they are reading, and are more likely to continue even after you offer God as a solution. So, if I were you (which I'm obviously not), I would use something like "A Curious Solution to a Universal Problem" or something like that. Anyway, that's my rambling two cents on the matter. This is your book, so do what you like with it. The freedom is yours. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@geneticrockhopper247 here's a link to my book http://www.wattpad.com/story/35864584-the-light-of-christ can you read what i have so far and suggest a good title? i really like ur idea, but i'm not good at coming up with one myself

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

Basically, your title needs to come from your mission. What is the most important thing that you want people to know or glean from your book? What is the universal question that you are trying to answer? From reading your story, it looks like your mission is to demonstrate how important it is to count on God and follow him. You're trying to show the importance of connecting a relationship with God to reality. Based on that, a title that I could perhaps suggest is "A Different View of the Same Reality." I'll think on it some more, and, if I come up with anything else, I'll add it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk, thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Completely agree with @geneticrockhopper247 I'm a Christian but whether I am or not is actually irrelevant. I figure your book should target youths and a title that sounds like the book is going to preach to you, isn't what you want. Go with something comedic (no, it's not blasphemy- yes, I just rolled my eyes). Suggested titles: -High School/Hell... What's the Difference? -Joy to the World, Summer has Come -Backsliding Should Be a Sport [if the book talks about how forgiving God is, even when you turn your back on Him this would work] -How to Survive Mondays [this title will definitely grab the reader's attention]. -Take Me To Church [not comedic but an attention grabber, if anyone recognizes the song, they'll stop even to just read the blurb] -I Failed My Test but God is Real -The Only Thing Better Than the Internet on a Saturday Night... If you actually want to be sorta serious, Suggested titles: - My name is (Insert First Name) and I'm a Christian -Flesh Versus Faith -The Testimony of a Teen -I Believe -Prove It -Evidence!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg, u guys r so awesome. i'll think about it

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

@Kennedii you have some fantastic ideas. :)

OpenStudy (fallenangelorchid):

I agree with @Kennedii ~ seeing that most teenagers will look at the book on Christianity. and begin to think. "not again" or "my parents lecture enough". But if they see something that relates to them, or more of their generation, chances are they'll click it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe you can use something like "Looking into him" or "The Light of his Soul". I totally want to read this book, by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks, @meaganspr4997 i put the link above. you'll need to have a wattpad account, but its really easy to make

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean @maeganspr4997

OpenStudy (deana99):

i think it should be called (with out God no one would be save)

OpenStudy (deana99):

@TwilightRain1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay personally im not a christian so for a book like this u need to have counter arguments that declare opposing ones illegitimate. Also i would put up a shocking title. Where people who r not Christian r going to be like wtf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have LOTS of counter arguments, i just need help coming up with a "shocking title". u say ur not a christian, so what title would make u want to read this book? what would draw your attention? @ispike

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey im writing a book on wattpad too.. actually writing 3 books :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the one about the girl? i wanna read it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't find the link.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.wattpad.com/story/35864584-the-light-of-christ here's the link again @maeganspr4997

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i would have to know what ur exact beliefs r because theres different beliefs among Christians. I can think of a title like "A Perfect World". Obviously the world isnt perfect but i could see how u could draw that title into your opinions in a way. And that would defiantly grab anyones attentions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i like "prove it", cuz it works well with what my book is about. what'd'y'all think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jesus 101: Why God and Christianity are Real. @TwilightRain1 Made it up all by myself XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I too am writing a book. Well, it's a series of short stories. It's got to do with Vikings (Not the TV Show!!!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KevinM.Williams159 i like ur title idea, but someone else had a good point that we don't want to scare people away with a "christiany" title. wanna do one that'll attract nonchristians

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ay, I gotcha @TwilightRain1

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

If that were a Christian book (like one that would be exclusively sold at a Christian bookstore), then that would be a great idea (and, for that sort of book, it is a FANTASTIC title, so kudos from me one that). Following that, maybe you could do like "Reality 101" instead of "Jesus 101"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Truth, The Truth of Religion, or Spiritual Truth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DJ_ExtrAvAgance this has nothing to do with my question, i'm just tagging DJ so OS will send him an email and he'll get on :P, kk?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As someone who is not Christian (but has nothing against it) I’m going to tell you the parts that just don’t make sense to me and many other people like me. Okay so the first part you talk about how its not about religion, but it kind of is. Religion is “the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.” So if you’re trying to trust or create a relationship with god then that would be religion. Now for the third paragraph you’re talking about how it’s a big commitment. What is? Pretend your audience is clueless, because sometimes they are. You need to go over what being a Christian is before you say I know it’s a big commitment. I don’t know what your goal is but saying something like that is a huge turn off for non-religious people. You're a great writter but with a topic like this you have to research a lot and take your time with it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ispike k, thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have a book on Wattpad as well. It's called Deadly Love by BellaBieber525. That is the first book and I have written another one and I am currently writting the third one. I'm also working on a completely different BLS as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks good! i gonna read it :P.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol 2 days later.. XD @TwilightRain1
