HELP! How would I solve this? 8x+12y=24?

OpenStudy (bibby):

solve for what?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

If you're not solving for both variables and simply putting your equation in slope intercept form, Then you subtract -8x from both sides and divide the RHS of your equation by 12 to isolate your y. This would put your equaition in slope intercept form: \(y=mx+b\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhannybean I have to solve for two variables

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Well, the first method I showed you lets you solve for y, Do the same for x by isolating it to one side.
