we have this right triangle |dw:1427606003024:dw|
using the pythagorean theorem, we get a^2 + b^2 = c^2 5^2 + x^2 = 13^2 25 + x^2 = 169 x^2 = 169 - 25 x^2 = 144 x = sqrt(144) x = 12 So the missing side is 12 |dw:1427606075067:dw|
