Don't make excuses. Spend your time thinking. Thinking about the drawing, Is the Pythagorean Theorem about Areas or Lengths? Remember, if we have a triangle we already have lengths. It is hoped that something so famous as the Pythagorean Theorem would give us some additional insight - perhaps a relationship to area? Note: Throw out the two that say something like "sum of largest and smallest equals the middle". Those are just silly.
