Finding the equation for a tan and csc graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand cosine and sine, but these two get me. I need to find the function for these two graphs

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Do you know how tan(x) looks like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I think this is cot(x)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Try - tan(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that looks like it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, y = A-tan(Bx)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Got your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the period \[3 \pi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saifoo.khan

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

For which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the -tan one, top

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Um, not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay nevermind on that one. The bottom one is csc(x) with a period of 3pi. How can I find the amplitude, if there even is one?
