When doing Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse can you just flip them over and do hypotenuse/opposite? medal + fan :]

OpenStudy (ankitshaw):

cosec = hypotenuse/opposite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know sin = opposite/hypotenuse cosine = adjacent/hypotenuse tangent = opposite/adjacent but i want to know if i can flip them cause my answer makes more sense if its hypotenuse/opposite and not opposite/hypotenuse

OpenStudy (ankitshaw):

then you will have to flip both the sides so hypotenuse/opposite = 1/sin

wow thanks no where in my lesson does it say anything about cosec my teachers and school is doing a great job! (sarcasm) thanks giving you a medal now and i already fanned you so i can't fan you again lol
