Please help me solve this step-by-step! Factor: 20v^2+13v-15
is this factoring?
Yup!
okay then i can help you :)
as soon as dad leaves xD
i cant focus unless im alone
Lol xD I gotcha, it's all good!
okay hes gone
ok first before you can even start factoring you need to find the GCF or greatest common factor of the numbers. do you see one?
\[20v ^{2}+13v-15\]
youre going to want to make a diamond chart (This is the easiest way to do factoring in my oppinion c:)
for the top number you multiply a and c. a being20 and c being 15, so that comes out to be 300. then the bottom number is going to be B which is 13.
hm, well the format I'm meant to answer in should look something like \[20v^2+13v-15\] = \[(?v +/- ?)(?v =/-?)\]
oh actually to be honest i cant remember how to do this... im sorry :/ I thought i knew how but i forgot it haha
Aw, okay. Well thank you anyway! :)
It's "foil" format. (Have you heard of it?) Would it help if I gave an example of one that i've solved that way there's not random question marks all over? :P
oh! yes. Please give an example :)
Factor trinominal: \[w^2+15w+56\] Answer: (w+8)(w+7)
Or Multiply: (x-6)(x-9) Answer: \[x^2-15x+54\]
yeah i know how to do that but not if the first number is greater than one
OH nevermind!!
you have to find the equation that would equal that equation?
Let me find an example like that one :)
nooo its ok! i know what to do now!
Ah, ok. Fantastic ^-^
ok so 20 is a, 13 is b and 15 is c right? :)
so youre gonna make a lil box (il draw it for u!)
