An idea if you want to be able to change your name.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Ruin the system, point blank

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

That isn't possible.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

And welcome back, fate :D

Day by day OS is getting better and better with all the thanks to people like Preetha and other helpers who are dedicating their time trying to help others get a better and easier experience at school. They had helped me allot during my senior year as I needed it the most. As a pay it forward Ive also tried to help other people too. I left OS for about 4 months by now, but when I came back (just for a visit) I got really impressed by what I saw. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped create such a web that helps many people sec by sec. I also have a small note that might grab the attention of some people that made a mistake, like made up your name when you were 10 years old and you think that its kind of embarrassing by now, you want to keep your account but change the name. I’m pretty sure that many of you had made an account on a social app or web sometime in your life. My point is, if you know kik an app that lets you to chat with other people. They use a system where you make a username thatll be stable and this is how people can look for you, and a “name” that’ll appear to people and you can change it. My question is, can you make the name system on OS like on kik? as in let us use our current names as a way to find people, and be able to change our name on the settings where it’ll be the display and what people would see? in order to limit the confusion, when someone clicks on your profile, theyll see your old name/ current code. and for tagging someone theyll still use the old codes. I might not be using OS currently, but I know that people who use it would like it too.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

What about your past tags? That'll go. There is a story waaaay behind this why it can't happen, :(

OpenStudy (fateal):

thank you Sam <3 im here for just a while, really busy with college ;-; i hae to type 70 pages for my class x.x and this is just a sguestion... dont hate brah ~

sammixboo (sammixboo):

And if it would happen, there is tons of cons

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Never hating :3

Hi, The realistic answer is, "no," however, the technical aspect is, "yes." While, yes, you can change your name (and I put a lot of emphasis on "can"), it would require administrators to change every ID (a marker for your information), which would be extremely painstaking. Even one mistake could result in a loss of SmartScore for you and everyone you've talked to. It's a risky operation (heh) and has never been attempted. Once you created your account, you're done. That's it. If you are disatisfied with your account name, then simply make a new one. :) Originally posted by @Compassionate

We may be able to have double tags. Join two accounts under one. Old username tags and new username tags will go to the same user.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if database management wasnt so convoluted, it might be a rather simple procedure to perform.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
