I think in your reaction with H2SO4 and Br^- the products will be HBr and HSO4^-/SO4^-2, the gas forming or gas evolution reactions it is more common to be given by H2SO3

will decompose and form gases are H2SO3

H2SO3(aq) → H2O(l) + SO2(g)
