OpenStudy (lexi724):

This one im lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are equal, so set the two equations equal to each other 2x - 5 = x + 3 Do you think you can solve for x now?

OpenStudy (lexi724):

i really dont know... this is remedial math class lol..........

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's equilateral

OpenStudy (igreen):

All the sides are the same, so we set up this equation: 2x - 5 = x + 3

OpenStudy (igreen):

Subtract 'x' to both sides first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, well use opposite operations to get x isolated. Subract x from the right side, giving you now x - 5 = 3 Now add 5 to the other side, giving you x = 8

OpenStudy (lexi724):

2(8)-5= 8+3 ?

OpenStudy (igreen):

She already gave you the answer..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question was asking for x, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, x = 8.

OpenStudy (lexi724):

i see but im just trying to understand it and yes it was i was just makiing sure thats how i would plus it in

OpenStudy (lexi724):

plug

OpenStudy (anonymous):
