OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hmm.. do you remember the formula to find the area of a rectangle? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just give me a second :)

OpenStudy (ilovecake):

ok

OpenStudy (ilovecake):

I don't remember the formula, no.

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Area of a rectangle = length * width Since we know Area = 36 and length =8 You substitute what we know into the formula above for the area of a rectangle. Therefore, 36 = 8 * width To find the width, you have to divide both sides by 8. So 36 divided by 8 = ? This will be your width :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahaha I was just about to say that. Lol

OpenStudy (ilovecake):

4.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes
