Another way to answer 'me/I' controversy is to take out the other noun. So instead of saying "Please hand Jeffrey and _____" you'd say aloud "Please hand _____"
When you do it this way, it becomes kinda obvious (Please had me OR Please hand I.... hmmm I wonder..)

These are the 2 types of objects. Difference? One is asking 'what' and the other 'for whom/for what'. So to identify the DIRECT object in: Please hand Jeffrey and __________ our sunglasses. You'd ask "Please hand WHAT" the answer to that is your direct object.
To identify the INDIRECT object in: Please hand Jeffrey and __________ our sunglasses. You'd ask "Please hand our sunglasses TO WHOM"
Now this shows there can be more than one, but in this specific question it's asking to identify only one.
