How does word choice affect the emotional impact of “She Walks in Beauty”? Pay special attention to connotation rather than denotation. Use evidence from the text to support your response.

OpenStudy (jmark):

The poem begins with the simile "like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies." This expresses a balanced and poised nature instead of being extremely glaring or too subdued. The poem is undoubtedly a romantic poem of admiration of a beloved. The poet uses phrases like "all that's best of dark and bright" to again connote that he admires her for her poised and balanced nature. He uses similar choice of words throughout the poem to convey his fond and tender admiration for his beloved. He ends with admiration for her balanced, calm and innocent nature.
