Did you know that more than 100 million animals die each year due to animal testing done to ensure the safety of cosmetics, food, medicine and other products? According to Peta.org, animal skin is not even the same as human skin. This means that animals are being killed for no good reason since the results gotten using their skin may not even be the same when a product is used on humans. Animal testing is wrong. Instead of scientists testing medicine and other products on animals, they should have people sign a waiver stating that they know there is a risk of death or other side effects with the use of the product. This would be the best alternative to killing animals through testing that may not even be effective since animals have different skin than humans. Animal skin Is not the same as human skin. This being said, that means that these tests may not be effective. According to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ the only animal with skin that is the closest to human skin, is pig skin. That does not mean that it will react the same as human skin, so some of the animals that are being tested on are dieing for no reason. So if animal skin is not the same as human skin, that means that the human may be at risk when they use the vaccine or drug on the human. Most of the animal testings are not successful, according to http://www.understandinganimalresearch.org . So that means that we are putting the animals through pain for no apparent reason. In the link above they state that 90% of animal testing are not successful. Also when they test it on humans 92% of them are not successful, according to http://www.understandinganimalresearch.org and http://speakingofresearch.com. So when we test it on humans they either end up very sick or in some cases death. Animal testing may not be successful most of the times, but it keeps us from testing on humans. When you test on an animal then you are sparing the life of a human. According to, http://www.amprogress.org life expectancies at birth are increased by 10.7%. Yes a lot of people don’t make it, but at least you have some people living instead of them all dieing. All in all. Animal testings should not be continued for these three reasons. For one animal skin is not the same a human skin, lastly most of the animal testings are not successful. With all of these reasons, scientists should find other solutions, instead of killing animals. People cannot change, but the way people do things, can change. If people work together, the world can be a better place with less animals being killed, and more people being cured.
