@nono266

myininaya (myininaya):

Start to list numbers that are only divisible by themselves and 1 (think positive divisors). So start at 2. Is 2 prime? Are there any divisors of 2 besides 1 and 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

myininaya (myininaya):

No it doesn't have any other divisors so yes it is prime right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

myininaya (myininaya):

what about 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 is prime too.

myininaya (myininaya):

4? 5? 6? and so on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is going to take a long time.

myininaya (myininaya):

it isn't going to be that long

myininaya (myininaya):

these are only small numbers between 1 and 31 we factor these in our head

@luliannagonzales hope that helped :)

here is another way to do it write out all the numbers between 1 and 31 including both 1 and 31|dw:1427909077577:dw| you are going to mark off all multiplies of 2 first (but don't mark off 2 since it is prime)
