Well I kinda disagree with 3. Think about how insulin and glucagon work: *Glucagon stimulates the glucose formation from glycogen (glykogenolysis) to prevent low blood sugar. *Insulin on the other hand stimulates the glycogen formation from glycose in order to prevent high blood sugar. As you can see the effects are opposite each other, and both contribute in order to maintain a physiologically equilibrium (homeostasis). So I don't think a key-lock analogy is the best to describe this.
I can mention as well both insulin and glucagon are peptide hormones, which means they both react with different receptors.
I agree with @Frosbite glucagon and insulin have functions opposite to each other, like black and white, totally opposite & both go against each other's function one of them signals breaking down of glycogen while the other signals making glycogen break x make relationship
