HELP! what are the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and maximum of the data set? 54,55,59,61,61,62,68,70,72? show your work.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the nice thing about the data set is that it is already arranged in ascending order... so the Minimum = smallest value in the set Maximum = largest value in the set next you need to find the physical middle of the data... called the median... just cross the numbers off from either end and work into the middle. lower quartile or Q1 is the middle of the bottom half of the data... median to minimum the upper quartile is the middle of the upper half Median tomaximum value hope it helps
