A man walks a distance of 8 Km in a direction S56 degreeW. He then walks due East for 20 Km. What is the distance and bearing of the man from his starting point?

i have found the distance which i think it's 14.2 but i can't find the bearing of the man from his starting point.. can you help

If you use right triangle trig on the let triangle, you can find the lengths of x and y.

\(\sin 56^o = \dfrac{x}{8}\)

\(x = 6.63\)

\(\cos 56^o = \dfrac{y}{8} \)

\(y = 4.47\)
