Alright, you need to isolate x on one side of the equation.
2x+4=-3x+14
Add 3x to both sides
subtract 4 from both sides
Now we have 5x=10
Then divide both sides by 5 and you have x=2
Now you can identify where splatt and fizzle went wrong in their calculations.
