Though B could be an option, it wasn't really an unrest... Hippies were all about peace. A makes sense. The civil rights movement went on through 1968. The Vietnam war went through the 70s and late 60s at its height.

But anyway, there's some reasoning for you. Although, with knowing the question, The wages of the rural didn't really cause any civil unrest. More civil unrest was with the hippies than the farmers.

Hippies caused civil unrest in the section of protests. There were a lot of protests . They usually didn't get violent, but they certainly were not happy with what they saw happening in Nam.
