The Chinese essentially backed and still back N. Korea. But N. Korea is like a rabid dog; sometimes they still get themselves into trouble by biting someone.

There is no military alliance between the Soviets and China. They had a common enemy and helped out allies, but there is a firm distrust between to two powers, since they each have their own agenda.

There are no known nukes in S. Korea.
