A pea plant exhibits a recessive trait. Which statement is most likely true about the plant? A. The plant is identical to its parent plant. B. The plant has different alleles for the gene that codes for the trait. C. The plant has two identical alleles for the gene that codes for the trait. D. The plant does not have the same genes for the trait as its parent plant.
It is not A
Recessive traits need to have two of the same alleles for them to be expressed. Dominant traits just need to have one allele (that would be the dominant one) for them to be expressed. So like on a punett square you would see the alleles written like TT, tt, Tt or gg, Gg, GG (they just switch the types of letters). If I said uppercase G/T is dominant to lowercase t/g,than GG and Gg/TT and Tt would be coding for a dominant trait. And gg and tt would be the recessive trait.
