I am preparing for a test and was wondering if I could please get some help?? I don't understand some questions! Anyone who helps me will receive a medal and fan! Thanks

Could I get step by step guidance on how to simplify these?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

28 should be simple enough, combine like terms . if we have 1 sqrt of 6, and add 3 more sqrts of 6 to it, how many sqrts of 6 do we have in total?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the next one is a basic process too the last 2 might have some extra thought to them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we have 7.34?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats not how we simplify ... simplification is rewriting the setup into a more simplified form. not a number

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1sqrt(6) + 3sqrt(6) = 4sqrt(6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. so 2sqrt12

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(6) + sqrt(6) is not sqrt(12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im sorry, im bad at math ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(6) is just some number, call it k what is k + 2k?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2k?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no, if we add 2k to 1k we dont end up worth 2k ... we have more what is 2+1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I too confused???
