OpenStudy (kropot72):

Let x be the weekly salary prior to the increases. The total amount of the increases is 0.043x + 0.0325 = 0.0755x Therefore the new weekly salary is given by: x + 0.0755x = 688.32 ............. (1) Now you just need to solve equation (1) to find the value of x, the weekly salary prior to the increases.
