hello

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

...y

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how do we determine the area of a triangle?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

A= H(b) * B / 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

width times height, halved yes whats our width and height?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

i cant tell. . . but i posted the picture above.... i think the height is 7 and width is 4 but im not sure

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

7 and 3 :)

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

thats why i kept getting the wrong answer. Thank you :) but how do i do the next one??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we need to know how many squares there are in total, and then how many are shaded, then we can calculate it

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

4 shaded and 16 unshaded.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its an 8x8 grid, how many squares in total is it?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then since 4 out of 64 are shaded that leaves 60 out of 64 not shaded, what is 60/64?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

.93

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yo might wnt to just reduce the fraction, otherwise youll have to convert the options to fractions. either way is up to you

OpenStudy (amistre64):

BandC are to small, so A or D are your best bets

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

oh yeah whoops. is it c?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

oh nevermind then haha

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

Thank you :) ill just go with D.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

D is best :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

60/64 30/32 15/16 yep
