I can't see the numbers on the bottom of the graph.....I know that at week 5 the plant was 8 inches.....but what week was it on when plant was 2 inches.....is it on 0 or on 1 ? Where does the line start at on the very bottom left corner ?

slope (m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
(0,2)....x1 = 0 and y1 = 2
(5,8)...x2 = 5 and y2 = 8
now we sub and find the slope(m)
slope(m) = (8 - 2) / (5 - 0)
slope(m) = 6/5

now we use y = mx + b
slope(m) = 6/5
use either of your points...(5,8)...x = 5 and y = 8
now we sub
8 = 6/5(5) + b
8 = 6 + b
8 - 6 = b
2 = b

so your equation is : y = 6/5x + 2
