I'm wondering how we're supposed to find 'x'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My teacher said, "To answer this question you need to find the area of each little rectangle and then use those areas to find the area of the whole rectangle. Then, find the area of the whole rectangle using its dimension." So I'm wondering how I'm supposed to do that.

lol HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you are supposed to say \(A=3x,B=21,C=x^2,D=7x\)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

on other words they are trying to show you that \[(x+7)(x+3)=x^2+3x+7x+21=x^2+10x+21\] very teacherly of them

Ohh I get it now @misty1212 thx so much that really helped!
