The coordinates of the vertices of figure DEFG are D(8, 4), E(16, 2), F(14, −7), and G(8, −5). Figure DEFG was translated to produce figure DꞌEꞌFꞌGꞌ with vertices Dꞌ(8, −17), E(16, −19), Fꞌ(14, −28), and Gꞌ(8, −26). How many units was figure DEFG translated? units down

(8,4) to (8,-17) Just count (or maybe subtract).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

The 8 didn't change, did it? This means there is no HORIZONTAL translation. How about the other number? How about VERTICAL translation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

21! @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I think you have it. Do another point and see if you get the same thing. (16,2) to (16,-19)
