Will give medal. Given the following perfect square trinomial, fill in the missing term. (Do not type the variable in the blank.) 4x2 + ___x + 49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1'm torn between 28 and 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The previous question was 4x2 + 28x + 49 so that led me to believe it was 28 but 1 looked at some other sites and saw that a lot of people thought it was 14.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Sorry but this is part of an FLVS test.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1ts a quiz

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Still.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

28 is correct why because (2x+7)^2=4x^2+28x+49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 already put an answer down, 1 am simplyasking for an opinion

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

It is not homework it is a quiz/test which is a breaking of COC so i want no part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont want you to flat out tell me the answer, that's counterintuitive

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Do you agree that the answer is 28??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1'm unsure which it would be, 1 can see the logic behind both. But obviously one of them is incorrect.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

The answer is 28 because (2x + 7)^2 = 4x^2 + 28x + 49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome, thank you so much.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Anytime :)
