Hi! I just started this course, I'm an artist and was pretty bad with the sciences. Do you have any recommendations on where to get a book on the fundamentals of biology for free? I think it would help me have a better understanding of the course. Thanks so much!

"Biochemistry" by Garrett and Grisham is downloadable as a .pdf after a google search. And you could pick up any old version of "molecular cell biology" by Lodish et al pretty cheaply online. By pretty cheaply I mean around $2 + shipping.

Best option: local library. Or, try open sources, e.g. Project Gutenberg or UPenn's Online Books Page. Try asking a friend. Some people choose to pirate. In that case, leech away. Lesson: there are plenty of ways to acquire literature in general without spending a nickel. But if you choose to own a hard copy, try rummaging biochemistry texts in local thrift stores or secondhand bookshops. I find vintage texts carry more robust fundamentals than modern ones although the latter is most up to date.
