@Michele_Laino

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

What do you think @I_love_my_nieces

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

A??

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think a combination, since those 5 elements represent a subset of a larger set

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

But I don't know..

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

http://www.mathsisfun.com/combinatorics/combinations-permutations.html @I_love_my_nieces

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

why?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please wait, I'm looking for your answer in my textbook

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Permutation is listing them in order like 1,2,3,4 that is important combination is a set of objects in which position (or order) is NOT important.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Here is some examples @I_love_my_nieces http://gyazo.com/70ea06265f0707608393abd6ef5919ca

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

I still think it's A.. Am I right?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

from the example it explains it and you see this question only says 5players not 1,2,3 or blue, red, green so it would be Combination :D

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Who want to help me with more math problems?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

If it was in order it would of been is choosing 1team leader, dancer, etc to represent the team at fundraiser

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

That would of been permutation

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Oh okay! Can you help me with more?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Ummm Sure i guess

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

New post or..?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

I mean if you want :D

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

I guess we can just stick with this one :)

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Lol :D

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

I need help with both

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: question b) we have to think about the number of permutations of 4 elements

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: the number of permutation of N elements is N!

Nnesha (nnesha):
