same as f( f(x) )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) plugged back into f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We are asked to evaluate "f of f of x". In other words f(f(x)). If \[f(x) = x^2 + 4\] Then f(f(x)) is found by replacing each instance of x in \[x^2 + 4\] with another \[x^2 + 4\] That is: \[f(f(x)) = f^2(x) + 4 = (x^2+4)^2 + 4\]
