Determine whether the sequence is arithmetic or geometric. Sequence 1: 32, 16, 0, –16, ... Sequence 2: 32, 16, 8, 4, ... Which of the following statements are true regarding Sequence 1 and Sequence 2. Sequence 2 is arithmetic and Sequence 1 is geometric. Both sequences are geometric. Sequence 1 is arithmetic and Sequence 2 is geometric. Both sequences are arithmetic

@confluxepic

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Hint: in an arithmetic sequence, you're adding a value to get the next number. in a geometric sequence, you're multiplying a value to get the next number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hm so is sequence 1 arithmetic ?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

yes, because to get the next number you're subtracting 16, or adding -16. :D

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Now what about sequence 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And sequence b is geometric ?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Yep! \(\LARGE\tt\color{lime}{Great~job!~\checkmark}\)
