I think it's Tibet, after reading this: The Manchu consolidated their power in Beijing in short order, despite having to put down armed opposition from Ming loyalists in other parts of China for the next four decades. The Manchu conquests were substantial, expanding the empire of China to twice the size it had been under the Ming. Under Emperor Kangxi (r. 1661–1722), Manchu China conquered lands in Mongolia and Central Asia and secured possession of southern China and the island of Taiwan, while also acquiring Tibet as a protectorate. Kangxi’s grandson, Qianlong (r. 1736–1795) extended his power into Burma, Nepal, and Vietnam as satellite states although not officially part of the empire.
