I think that you can identify the cells and try doing volume and surface area because they are completely the different ways to get to the final answer

@britt1212 The question is asking about efficiency. Which shape can a cell take to have the lowest surface area to volume ration?

Let's look at a 2-D example. We have a bowl of water, the bowl has a perfect circle shape when looking directly down at if it, from above.

What happens when we put a drop of oil in the water? Oil is hydrophobic. Think of it has being afraid of water. Our oil is very shy and so it wants to hide as much of itself as possible from touching water. When you put a drop of oil in water, what shape does it make on the surface of the water in our bowl?

Now that was our 2-D example. Can you take that oil shape and imagine what shape would do the same thing in a 3-D?
