http://gyazo.com/0fce17f94494af4166b6c1c64cfbd141 The figures below are similar. What are a) the ratio of the perimeters and b) the ratio of the areas of the larger figure to the smaller figure. The figures are not drawn to scale.
first find in what ratio are given sides: 30in/12in=5:2
@Peetah1224 dunno, but \({\huge\bf\color{red}\bigstar\color{orange}\bigstar\color{goldenrod}{\bigstar}\color{yellow}{\bigstar}\color{lightgreen}{\bigstar}\color{darkgreen}\bigstar\color{turquoise}{\bigstar}\color{royalblue}{\bigstar}\color{purple}{\bigstar}~\color{#00bfff}{\bigstar\bigstar\bigstar}\color{#11c520}{\bigstar\bigstar\bigstar}}\\{\huge\bf\color{red}W\color{orange}E\color{goldenrod}{L}\color{yellow}{C}\color{lightgreen}{O}\color{darkgreen}M\color{turquoise}{E~}\color{royalblue}{T}\color{purple}{O}~~\color{#00bfff}{Open}\color{#11c520}{Study}}\\{\huge\bf\color{red}\bigstar\color{orange}\bigstar\color{goldenrod}{\bigstar}\color{yellow}{\bigstar}\color{lightgreen}{\bigstar}\color{darkgreen}\bigstar\color{turquoise}{\bigstar}\color{royalblue}{\bigstar}\color{purple}{\bigstar}~\color{#00bfff}{\bigstar\bigstar\bigstar}\color{#11c520}{\bigstar\bigstar\bigstar}}\\\small\cal\) Made~by~ sleepyjess
each side is in 5:2 ratio, so P(1)=5a+5b+5c+5d and P(2)=2a+2b+2c+2d
divide P(1) by P(2) and you will get 5/2
as for area i'm not sure, but i think 25/4
why do you think it would be 25/4? and thanks for the first part. i got to 2.5 and my brain didn't understand that i needed to turn it into a fraction cx
