why do telomerases work as reverse transcriptases ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

telomerase is an enzyme that consists of a rna template and a protein. It extends the ends of the DNA by using its rna as template (which is complementary to the end of dna) to extend the ends with the help of its protein part. Since rna is used as a template , telomerase is known to work as a reverse trancriptase
