OpenStudy (surana):

The graph of y <_ -x^2 -6x -5 contains which of the following points?

OpenStudy (surana):

The <_ is supposed to be < with _ underneath it so I believe it's meant to say less/greater than or equal to. And the possible answers are A -3,5 B -3,4 C 1,6 D 2,0

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first draw the graph on Desmos Graphic Website

OpenStudy (surana):

Already done.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

well your points well be below the curve it will be a parabola that opens downwards right?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

as itsm less thah or equal points on the graph will also count

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All negative graphs open down

OpenStudy (welshfella):

thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you're graphing you can easily just plug the point into your graph to see which ones are either below/inside the parabola or on the line

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay, let me look then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When looking at the graph it's pretty obvious that you'll need a negative "x" value and the graphs maximum is 4. The only option there would be (-3,4) and when you check that to the graph it is on the line. so B. (-3,4) would be your best answer.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes B is one answer

OpenStudy (surana):

B is the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (surana):

-3,4. Okay.
