OpenStudy (anonymous):

How was the cold war affected American foreign policy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The cold war was a time of tension with the Communists in Russia and their allies. We know of all the things that were done, most of it was done in secret. It wasn't really that much of a war, as it was more nations spying on one another. Since the cold war, the US has enacted many laws and policies regarding spies and such. But also, because of the threats of nuclear war, policies to control the use of nuclear weapons were enacted!

Hope this helps :)

Many Americans were afraid of Nuclear attack and communism. Because of this, US had to enact certain policies like the Containment policy!
