OpenStudy (bacon):

How to simplify this...

OpenStudy (bacon):

\[6n(3n-2) -4(n+3)\]

OpenStudy (bibby):

distribute combine like terms

OpenStudy (bacon):

do i distribute the 6n with the -2?

OpenStudy (bibby):

depends on how you want to break it up. you can just distribute the 2 or the whole -2 like so

OpenStudy (bibby):

I meant 4

OpenStudy (bibby):

here: \(6n(3n-2)-4(n+3)=\\(6n*3n)-(6n*2)-[4(n+3)]\) from there you can either distribute the -4 to (n+3) or just distribute the 4 and then subtract the whole thing

OpenStudy (bibby):

so that means \([-4(n+3)]=(-4*n)+(-4*3)\\or\\-[4(n+3)]=-[(4*n+4(3)]\)
