Give the equivalent numerator if the denominator is x³y².

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 2 }{ xy^2 }\]

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

We can find equivalent functions when we divide or multiply both numerator and denominator by a number. For example: \[\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }=\frac{ 3 }{ 12 }=\frac{ 6 }{ 24 }\] With algebraic fractions, the same logic is applied. So, since the equivalent denominator of the fraction: \[\frac{ 2 }{ xy^2 }\] is x^3 y^2 all we have to do is make a x^3 so we will multiply the numerator and the denominator by x^3: \[\frac{ 2x^2 }{ xy^2 x^2 }\] Giving us as a equivalent fraction: \[\frac{ 2x^2 }{ x^3 y^2 }\]

Here's the answer choices, btw. x²y 2x² 2x³y²

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Well, it's just the numerator of the fraction I gave you in the previous response, that is "2x^2"

Total blonde moment:) oops..lol

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

hahaha

Thank you! Would you mind helping me with some more?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Sure, just post them and tag me.

Will do. Medal for medal (on each question) and fan for fan?:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Owlcoffee ..?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Sure.
