OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

In pea plants, Mendel found that the allele for smooth seeds (S) is dominant , while the allele for wrinkled seeds (s) is recessive. Which Punnett square shows crosses between plants heterozygous for smooth seeds and homozygous recessive for wrinkled seeds?

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

@slinley LAST 1!

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

-.-

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

NKAY! THX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ITS A

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

I KINDA THOUGHT A 2!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ITS A BC HETEROGENOUS MEANS Ss AND HOMOGENOUS RECESSIVE IS ss SO YEAH

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

It tells you one plant's genotype is Ss - the heterozygote. And it tells you the second plant is homozygous recessive, meaning it has two recessive alleles, so it's ss. Pick the option that corresponds to that. Honestly people, these direct answers are crap. Distinctly not impressed.

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

WELL I KINDA LIKE DIRECT BETTER RN CUZ I IN A HURRY! SO YAH!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My answer was typed like that because of the chat I was in with her. I typically type like this and explain my answer more formally than what was given. @hectoroftroy

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

Slinley, you just did and it happened to be wrong (seriously, don't feel bad about the wrong part, I screw up all the time). I merely state, it's not a cheating website, it's a teaching website. That is all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand what you're saying. I do apologize for that. I try to help as much as I can and lead them in the right direction but she told me she was in a rush so I just directly stated it with a slight explanation.

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

When they're in a rush they're doing a timed assignment. Which means they're taking a test. However nice you're trying to be.
