jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

did you get anywhere with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 unfortunately no, I just need help with solving! :-)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

What do you notice about g(x)? Specifically the y values in column 2 of the table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 it decreases by -5 and then goes back up by -5, is that what you are asking?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

all of the y values are positive? or all negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 all negative.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but if you look at f(x), you'll see that f(x) has positive y values on it so clearly f(x) is larger

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 and what about h(x)?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it turns out h(x) is very similar to f(x) in that it has positive y values on it at as well. I recommend you graphing it to check it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 thank you! :-)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

use something like desmos https://www.desmos.com/calculator if you don't have a graphing calculator
