A sweater is marked down 33% off the original price. The original price was $37.50. What is the sale price of the sweater before sales tax?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So the original price was 37.50 If it is marked down 33% that means it is only at 67% of it's whole value....so we need only multiply the original price by 67% or 0.67 \[\large 37.50 \times 0.67\]
