what is the correct description for the translation of a to a, A(10,3) A'(1,6) please hurry i will give medal
what is a translation?
that's one problem i don't know im really struggling
this is my first time doing this kind of stuff
your lesson plans should have defined the term for you already. if youve read your material, you should have some basic notion as to what to do. when you can give me a definition of 'translation' that you think might be appropriate, i can correct you if needed. and then we can apply it to your problem.
ok ill try to find it
Sliding": moving a shape without rotating or flipping it. The shape still looks exactly the same, just in a different place this is one thing i found i dont think its this thoe
thats pretty accurate. notice that we have a point A, and it is moved (translated) so that it ends up at point A' consider the translation T(x+a,y+b) such that for any point P(xo,yo), T(P) = P'(xo+a, yo+b)
we are looking for a and b values that fit your situation
A(10,3) T(A) = (10+a , 3+b) = A'(1,6)
here are my 4 possible answers right 9 up 3 left 9 down 3 right 9 down 3 left 9 up 3
theres options even ... hmmm so which one moves A to A'?
those are the options on my paper that i have there multiply choice
is the issue that you dont know left from right? or up from down? or im not sure what the disconnect is here.
try plotting the points, and move A to A', which steps would you take?
i dont have a grid of them so i dont know
you dont need a grid, you simply place them relative to where they might be .... A'(1,6) A(10,3) how do we get from A to A'? its got to be 9 one way and 3 the other .. but how do we determine if its left right up or down?
@amistre64 hey i have the same question but i want to understand it not the answer i can cooperate... :D
then the last post whre i have positioned them relative to one another, we simply have to move from A to A' we know the options say left/right by 9; and up/down by 3 the only real decision to make, is if we move left or right, and up or down
i say its D
A'(1,6) ^ ^ ^ <<<<<<<<<<< A(10,3)
D is good for me too, left then up
yay! thanks so much! :D
youre welcome :)
