24/40 = 0.6 = 60%

40% out of 40 prefer keyboarding
obviously, 60% is bigger...so more students prefer Eng over keyboarding

You can do this two ways:
1) Find what percentage of 40 24 is and compare with 40%.
2) Find 40% of 40 and compare with 24.
