Naomi has 5 trophies. In how many different ways can Naomi line the trophies up on her shelf? A.5 B.60 C.120 Please help

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

let's say the trophies are A B C D E How many ways can 5 things be arranged? 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 which equals 120 That can be shortened into 5! which is called 5 factorial.

OpenStudy (swamijatin2):

he first trophy can be placed in one of 5 places, the second in one of 4 place, the third in one of 3 places, the fourth in one of 2 places, the last one in only one place. So 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 =120
