MEDEL AND FAN! if you help!!! please help!!!!!!!!!!!!! What geographic characteristics made Rome an ideal place to settle down? Describe at least three characteristics and how they were helpful with food, travel, and defense from outside attackers.

Fresh water - water to drink and rivers made it easy to transport things. Small streams ran through the valleys. On the seven surrounding large hills was large Tiber River Good land - The land was very fertile and most people lived in Farming communities and worked the land. Farm workers would produce the food, material and fuel that large cities like Rome needed. It was in fact hard work. Protection - located 15 miles inland, the steep banks provided good protection. Rome was also big in the trade business and that helped provide for the big city. And that's all I got.

Okay to answer the second part about the Romans, Romans would persecute and targeted for punishment usually by death. Most cases Christians were scapegoats (much how jews were in WWII).
