So Christopher Columbus is sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in the hopes of looking for a new trade route between western Asia and eastern Europe. The thing is, though, the Americas are in the way, and he doesn't know it. However, regardless of the extremely massive size of the Americas in between... he lands on a tiny island. Seriously, what are the odds of something like that happening? :P
